Palestine, absolute priority for Syria

A member of the Syrian parliament says Muslim countries have ample opportunities at hand for defending the innocent Palestinian nation in the face of the Zionist regime's atrocities.

Abd al-Mon'em al-Sowa made the remarks in an interview with the Quds News Agency (Qudsna).

The Syrian lawmaker said the Zionist occupation of Palestine and the Syrian crises were two major problems of the world of Islam.

The lawmaker lamented that the Islamic countries have not made their best in resolving the Palestinian problem.

The parliamentarian said the Palestinian issue has been an absolute priority for the Syrian foreign policy, adding that Palestine makes an inspirable part of the conscious of the Syrian nation.

The Syrian lawmaker said the nation opened laps to all Palestinian resistance groups, adding the nation hosted one million Palestinian refugees while treating them as Syrian citizens.

The Syrian lawmaker said the more there are pressures on Syria to keep it away fro the Palestinian nation, the more the nation would support the innocent Palestinians.

In another regard, the Syrian parliamentarian said the armed terrorists in Syria knowingly or inadvertently are serving the Israeli wishes by weakening the Palestinian cause.
