Palestine has right to join int'l treaties

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Bogdanov, said that Palestine has the right to join international treaties, particularly following Palestine obtaining the status of a non-member observer State at the United Nations in 2012.

Bogdanov’s statement came as he met with the Palestine ambassador to Russia, Faed Mustafa, where he renewed his country’s firm and constant position of supporting Palestine.

“The international reference is the legal basis to find a solution to the Palestinian cause which ensures establishing the independent State of Palestine with East al-Quds as its capital,” said Bogdanov.

He further praised the Palestinian leadership’s decision to send a delegation to Gaza for national reconciliation talks, stressing that Russia believes the reconciliation is in the interest of the Palestinian national action.

Mustafa briefed the former on the latest political developments following Israeli’s rejection to release the fourth batch of pre-Oslo prisoners, in addition to the Palestinian leadership’s endeavors to join international treaties as well as the national reconciliation talks.
