Israel to keep security presence in any Palestinian state

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has insisted that the entire territory of a future Palestinian state must be under the Israeli security rule.

The Israeli prime minster has also told a security conference in Tel Aviv that the realities on the ground in the region require Israel to set up a security wall along the border with Jordan, according to Safa.

The Zionist authority said the Israeli army would protect Israel by keeping presence in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley. Such presence would effectively render any Palestinian state unviable.

Netanyahu claimed that any withdrawal of Israeli forces from the West Bank would pave the way for the coming to power of Palestinian resistance groups.

The Zionist authority also said the Sykes-Picot agreement term was over, adding that Israel was facing four major challenges at the moment. Netanyahu cited the challenges as protection of borders, stabilizing Jordan borders, setting up a regional cooperation for countering what he called 'radical Islam' and expanding efforts for preventing Iran from turning into what he called 'a nuclear power.'
