Zarif urges swift stop to attacks on Gaza
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says “the United States and the rest of the members of the Security Council have a moral and legal responsibility to put an end” to Israel’s air strikes in Gaza.
“We call for an immediate end to all of these activities,” Zarif told NBC, in an interview that will be aired in full on Sunday.
Asked if he condemns Hamas for launching rockets into Israel, Zarif responded that “we do not condemn people who are defending themselves.”
“We believe that actions that are putting civilians in jeopardy in Gaza that have placed restrictions on civilians to get access to medicine. To food. Have tried to starve the civilians in Gaza,” he said.
