Israeli media admit to might of resistance

In the wake of the death of an Israeli soldier in the early hours of the ground operation on Gaza border, Israeli daily Maarive has acknowledged that the ground combat between the Israeli military and the Palestinian resistance groups was painful and source of concern for the regime.

Other Israeli media have echoed similar concerns, saying the Israeli forces have an uphill task in the face of the Palestinian resistance.

Israeli radio has admitted that the Gaza border was witness to heavy clashes between the two sides with the Palestinian resistance staging massive attacks on the invading forces.

The Hebrew media reported that the Palestinian resistance has used heavy and semi-heavy weapons including anti-tank missiles, artillery and anti-personnel explosives against the invading force.

Haaretz too has talked of fear and caution on the part of the Israeli soldiers and commanders about ambush operations and heavy swoops by the Palestinian fighters against the occupying force.
