War on Gaza broke asunder myth of Golani brigade

Golani Brigade is said to be one of the most highly decorated and skilled infantry units in the Israeli army. The myth of the brigade however broke asunder during the recent Israeli war on Gaza, Paltoday said.

Prior to the war, the Zionist regime took pride in the military skills of the brigade. There was a slogan in Hebrew that said חמאס וגהאד בשטח גולני במתח (as long as the First Ranked brigade is in the battlefield, Hamas and Islamic Jihad would be in fears). The Israelis however no longer find any motivation to uphold the slogan.

The commander of the brigade was killed during the early days of the carnage in Gaza, triggering the first cracks on the myth. And, the so-called seasoned forces of the brigade started to flee the battlefield, facing a stiff resistance by the Palestinian groups.

The Israeli army recently ordered a unit of the brigade be arrested after they refused to continue to serve in the brigade. The dodgers however prefer to be behind bars than losing their life at the hand of the valiant forces of the Palestinian resistance.
