Int'l law offers ways to sue Israel
An Iranian expert in international law says the Charter of the International Criminal Court provides many grounds for putting the Zionist child-killing regime on dock for its war crimes in Gaza.
"Articles 1 to 7 of the charter, especially the Article Five point to such prosecutable crimes as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression. The Zionist regime's recent war on Gaza is subject of each and all of these cases," Masoud Akhavanfar told Qudsna.
The expert added however that the US and its allies who strongly support Israel have yet to approve the Charter unlike their claims to be advocating human rights. The expert said the US refusal to approve the charter has provided an umbrella of support for the Zionists regime to pursue its aggressions against Palestinians.
Nevertheless, the expert noted that under the charter, if the court's prosecutor deems it appropriate, he could personally file a complaint against any violating state or individual.
In another regard, the expert said world's NGOs may also initiate a move to prosecute the regime.
The expert also noted that none of the Israeli authorities have judicial immunity as they have once led a terrorist group according to their records. "Even Britain has listed many of them as wanted over their criminal record," he said, adding that the Zionist regime's authorities may also be separately sued as wanted criminals.
The expert also said the legal jurisdiction of several entities, including Belgium, Spain and the Islamic Republic may allow for suing the criminals. "The Interpol too has the mandate to sue them," he suggested.
"There are also international Conventions that allow suing the regime over its violations against women, children and the elderly," Akhavanfar said.
