Sinai offer, conspiracy against resistance
The 51-day Israeli genocidal war on Gaza halfway through, an urgent call was made by the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei for arming the West Bank. The call was highly greeted by resistance groups across Palestine and reverberated across the world media, sending shockwaves through the Israeli authorities and their western allies.
Israel and its western allies have apparently sought to remove the question by making the surprise call for the formation of a Palestinian state inside the Sinai desert through the Egyptian channel.
Egyptian president General Abdel Fatah A-Sisi offered Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas to cede 160 square kilometers of the Sinai Peninsula adjoining Gaza to the PA and create a Palestinian state. In return, the PA would stop demanding that Israel return to the 1967 borders, basically removing the question of arming the West Bank. Sisi reportedly suggested that Palestinian refugees be allowed to settle in the new Gaza in which no resistance forces would be allowed to hold arms.
Iranian expert, Hassan Hanizadeh believes the offer was an organized conspiracy against the Palestinian resistance.
The expert also said Abbas's remarks that resistance was not coordinating its moves with the PA chief showed his political life was over as he has failed to bring any political achievements for the Palestinian nation through his negotiation initiative.
The expert said the Sinai plan was part of an effort by the Arab regimes to put an end on the Palestinian struggle.
"If the plan was materialized, Beit ul-Moqaddas and other occupied areas would be ceded to Israel for good," he told Qudsna.
Striking the same warning tone, another Iranian expert Hussein Rouyvaran said the Egyptian offer was unethical and irrational as no country is supposed to make for the Israeli occupation.
The expert added that the plan shows how the current Egyptian rulers are influenced by the US and Israel as they are ready to cede a section of their land so as to secure the Israeli security.
The expert also said the Arab regimes seek to transfer their aid to the PA so as to peddle the idea that 'resistance brings destruction while Abbas brings rebuild.'
The expert added however that the trend of developments may run otherwise with the spread of armed resistance from Gaza to the West Bank. Rouvaran said the scenario is very likely in light of the unprecedented solidarity between the two separate Palestinian areas seen during the war on Gaza.
And, another expert Hossein Kanani Moqaddam says the Egyptian plan was a case of treason against the Palestinian cause.
He told Qudsna however that the plan has already been offered and rejected by the Palestinian nation for several occasions.
The expert was approved of the idea that the Egyptian offer was part of efforts to overshadow Ayatollah Khamenei's call for arming the West Bank.
"They are well aware of the key role of the Islamic Republic in advancing the Palestinian movement. They know the Iranian leader's roadmap has presented a model for the Palestinian resistance. They seek to counter the plan by such offers," Moqaddam added.
