Z-lobby hinders pro-Palestinian movies
The pro-resistance director made the remarks in a news conference in Palestine Theater in Tehran on Tuesday.
The French director elaborated that the Zionist lobby has emerged as the biggest hurdle to any influential movies on the Palestinian issue.
"In recent years, many movie makers who even are of Jewish decent or live in Israel have made movies in support of Palestine however the Zionist regime has barred the movies from being screened," the French artist said.
The director said the Palestinian issue must be viewed as a global, human issue rather than the issue of a small territory whose people are killed on a daily basis.
In another regard, Poumier called the Islamic Republic a powerful country that has been a source of inspiration for independent movie directors in the world.
The director then touched on her newest work called "Repetition of Amia" that recounts the bombing of the Jewish center in Argentine in 1984.
The director said even 20 years after the bombing, Israel that has one of the most equipped spying systems in the world seeks to use the bombing as a lever of pressure against Iran instead of looking for the true suspects.
"Israel has used similar events in order to advance its goals," Poumier said.
