Hamas-Fatah deal points to a new era
Iranian expert in Middle East affairs, Hossein Rouyvaran says the survival of the recent agreement between Hamas and Fatah amid the war on Gaza points to a new era of political exchanges in the Palestinian stage in which the Palestinian groups respect one another's views.
The expert argued that the Palestinian Authority as one of the parties to the agreement has little faith in the path of resistance however it respected the views of the other party during and after the genocidal war on Gaza.
The expert said Hamas showed its adherence to the agreement by ceding the government bodies to a visiting unity government premier Rami Hamdallah.
"Hamdallah too showed his respect for the other side by saying that reconstruction of Gaza was part of the anti-Israeli resistance," he added.
The expert also cited the Fatah agreement for a quick restructuring of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) to incorporate Hamas and the Islamic Jihad as another sign that the two parties seek the other side's political participation in favor of the Palestinian people.
