Extremist Israeli MPs blamed for tensions

Repeated attempts by members of the Israeli parliament members to visit the al-Aqsa mosque area is a provocation that incites Palestinians' to response and significantly and unequivocally increases tensions in the area, a senior police official told Ynet.

Israeli police went on heightened alert Sunday following protests across Israel over the murdering of a 22-year-old Palestinian.

The tensions add to those already raging in the occupied al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’), where Palestinians from the eastern part of the city have been clashing almost daily with police over access to a holy site.
