IRI keeps support to regional resistance

An Iranian political expert says the Hamas movement has been clearly seeking to mend its ties with the Islamic Republic due to regional developments as well as certain field developments in Syria.

Member of the political commission in the Iranian pro-Palestinian think-tank, Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation, Mohammad Irani was speaking to Qods News Agency (Qodsna.)

The expert argued that in the regional scene, Hamas has become worried about its political future after Qatar drew closer to Egypt under Saudi Arabia’s pressure, offering Hamas as a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood a chilly support.

As for the Syrian field developments, the expert said the emergence of the ISIL terror group cause the regional countries to put the terrorism issue top on their agenda at the cost of the Palestinian issue, leaving Hamas in a debilitative situation.

“At such conditions, Hamas has expressed willingness again for Iran ties while the Islamic Republic has never cut its support to the resistance movement,” the expert said, adding that the Islamic Republic has never turned an indifferent face to Palestinian resistance movements.

Also a former Iranian ambassador to Jordan, Irani believed that the Islamic Republic must tolerate Hamas’ past diplomatic stance and further extend its supportive cover over the resistance movement.

Irani also believed that Iran would keep its support to the regional resistnance movement as a principle policy.
