Palestinian issue serves as unifying issue for Muslims

A senior official in the Lebanese Amal party says the Palestinian issue remains as the topmost issue of the Arab world, the Muslim community and the world free men.

Ghazi Hanina was speaking to Qods News Agency on the sidelines of an international conference in Tehran on Muslim unity.

The Lebanese figure also said the Muslims have a large responsibility towards the occupied city of al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’).

The personality who leads an Islamic unity campaign in Lebanon urged Muslims to beware against divisive arguments in the Palestinian issue, adding that the Muslim future generation must be taught to pursue the Palestinian issue with diligence.

The Lebanese personality also said Muslims must not allow any issue to distract them from the Palestinian issue, adding the Palestinian must serve as a unifying issue for the Muslim community.

The Muslim scholars and activists who have joined the conference focused on the Palestinian issue in the second day of the event.

The conference that is the 28th edition of the unity conference started in Tehran on Wednesday under the banner of ‘single Muslim community, challenges and solutions.’

The participant approved the idea that the Palestinian issue and the struggle against the Zionist regime was a key foreign policy for the Muslim community.

The scholars also underlined the role of hostile states in the emergence of the ISIL terror group and its negative effect on the Palestinian issue.

The conference listened to lecturers who convincingly argued that the sole way to counter the western conspiracy in forming the ISIL terrorism was to get united and take up arms.
