Palestinian issue must become priority

An Egyptian journalist says the Islamic Republic has helped to table the Palestinian issue as a top agenda of the Muslim community.

Ali Qabani also told the Qods News Agency that the key to the liberation of Palestine was the unity of the Muslim community.

Qabani said the Palestinian issue was originally a Muslim issue however it turned into an Arab or Palestinian issue and then was shrunk into a merely Palestinian-Israeli issue. “It has now been summarized as an Israeli-Hamas issue,” the Egyptian expert said, adding that the limited scope forced the Palestinians to tailor their demands in the Palestinian issue.

“Unity of Muslims may retable the Palestinian issue as a priority agenda for Muslims,” he added.

The Egyptian journalist also touched on the numerous internal crises facing the Zionist regime and said the regime was on its last legs.

Qabani said the flight of conscripts from military services shows that the regime was suffering a serious identity crisis.
