World free men consider Gaza as victor
Managing director of the Fars News Agency, Sayyed Nezamoddin Mousavi says one must consider beyond the conventional definitions of military victory when assessing the accomplishment of the Palestinian resistance in countering the invading Zionist regime's forces in recent years.
The news manager also told the Qods News Agency that when one comes to deal with a national cause, the definition of victory and defeat would change, adding that in such cases, victory would be assessed by the amount of popularity each of the two sides of a conflict has gained.
"At such cases, that side would be considered victorious which manages to prove its rightfulness in the eyes of the public opinion irrespective of the human or material damages it might have sustained," the media personality added in the interview that was conducted a few days ahead of the Iranian calendar day of January 19 designated for the commemoration of the Gaza resistance.
Mousavi touched on the case of the Ashura movement that was an asymmetrical warfare between a 72-strong group and a 30-thousand-strong army however free men of the world still consider the fewer group as victorious despite their superficial defeat.
The media man added that the world public opinion tends to consider the Palestinian resistance as the victorious side of the 22-day war on Gaza in 2008-9 as it no longer considers number of casualties as a good parameter for judging the victors.
"The Gaza people could stand against an army that was backed by atomic and phosphorous bombs and dares committing every sort of crimes due to the western support," Mousavi said, adding that the world public opinion considers the Palestinian side as the victor for it stood by its cause.
In another regard, the media expert said the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza in summer broke apart the phony grandeur of Israel as it could not gain its originally stated goals in the war despite resorting to every sort of military tactics.
