PA move to refer to ICC would cost dearly
A spokesman of a prominent Palestinian politico-military movement says the Palestinian Authority's move to call on the UN Security Council and the International Criminal Court was an inappropriate move that would have a dear cost for the Palestinian nation.
Representative of the Palestinian Islamic Movement in Tehran Naser Abu Sharif was speaking to the Qods News Agency in Tehran.
The Palestinian personality argued that the prerequisite for membership in the international court is to recognize Israel at least 20 years earlier and to acknowledge any lawsuits on the part of Israel in the court against the Palestinian nation.
Abu Sharif said those who have tabled the offer seek to present themselves as top be adopting a logical approach however they are not logical.
"The Zionist regime is an illegitimate regime that has committed major human crimes," the Palestinian representative said, adding that the sole option for the Palestinians is to counter the regime and force it out of the occupied Palestine.
Abu Sharif noted that the western governments have long sought to draw the Palestinians to international bodies as it would require the recognition of Israel.
Asked about the Israeli claim over the so-called 'Two-state Solution,' Abu Sharif said Israel tells lies over the issue. The Palestinian spokesman elaborated that the formation of any Palestinian state is impossible as long as large parts of the West Bank are under the control of Israel.
Abu Sharif reaffirmed that the Zionist regime by such statements seeks to buy further time for its anti-Palestinian projects.
