MP hopes S. Arabia would revise policy

An Iranian lawmaker has expressed hope the new Saudi Arabian government would rectify the late king Abdullah’s approach towards the Muslim world and adopt a cooperative position concerning the Islamic affairs.

Spokesman of the Parliamentary Committee in National Security and Foreign Policy, Seyyed Hassan Naqavi Husseini was speaking to the Qods News Agency in Tehran.

Husseini singled out the oil prices crisis and said the declining prices that were triggered by the Saudi Arabia’s oil policies have already inflicted up to 300 billion dollars in losses on the Arab and Islamic states.

The lawmaker called the policy an oil war and hoped it would be revised by the new Saudi Arabian government of the King Salman.

“The wrong policy shifted a large sum of wealth to the pocket of the enemies of the Muslim world instead of being spent in developing the Muslim world and advancing its aspirations,” the lawmaker regretted, adding the Palestinian issue was top among the Islamic issues that was affected by the oil policy.
