Palestinian issue, top agenda of IRI

An Iranian expert in regional affairs says the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) has pursued the Palestinian issue as a top agenda from the outset.
Hassan Hanizadeh was speaking to the Qods News Agency a few days ahead of the 36th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979.
The expert said the Muslim and Arab nations in the region realized since decades ago that the Iranian revolution follows ideals beyond home and seeks to set free the world’s underprivileged people.
Hanizadeh added that the Palestinian issue came atop the Muslim agenda after a newly-established Islamic Republic of Iran closed Israel embassy in Tehran in 1979 before handing it over to Palestinian representatives.
The expert believed that the anti-Iranian conspiracies in the past few decades partly took place in a bid to counter the Islamic Republic’s pro-Palestinian stance.
