Palestinian issue found Islamic momentum in 1979
An Iranian expert in regional affairs says the Palestinian issue was granted an Islamic side following the Islamic Revolution of Iran, helping it to pick a larger momentum.
Hossein Sheikhol-Islam was speaking to the Qods News Agency a few days ahead of the 36th anniversary of the 1979 revolution.
Aide to the Iranian parliament speaker said Imam Khomeini popularized the Palestinian issue by designating the last Friday of the Holy month of Ramadan as the International Day of Qods for an annual public march.
Sheikhol-Islam said people have always played a key role in political developments including in the Palestinian issue.
In another regard, the expert said the collapse of Israel has started in light of reverse immigration from Israel and that Israel is no longer considered a threatening power in the region.
