US expert: 1979 revolution ended US domination over ME
Senior US expert in intelligence affairs, Wayne Madsen says the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979 put an end to the post-WWII era of US geopolitical domination over the Middle East.
Madsen was speaking to the Qods News Agency days ahead of the 36th anniversary of the landmark revolution that got triumph on February 11, 1979.
The security expert recalled the function of the overthrown regime of Shah as the key US agent for carrying out its policies, adding that the Islamic Revolution reversed the trend.
Asked about the role of the Islamic Revolution in creating and promoting the Palestinian resistance groups, the US investigative journalist touched on close relations between the the pre-revolutionary Iranian intelligence body and the Israeli Mossad agency during the Shah’s era, adding that actually a U-turn took place on the ground following the 1979 revolution.
The US analyst approved the anti-Zionist posture of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini and said Zionism poses a threat to the entire world, beyond Palestine.
