Iranian revolution pushed Palestinian issue forward
An Iranian lawmaker says the Islamic Revolution of Iran that got triumph in 1979 especially pushed the Palestinian issue forward by dismantling a regime in Iran (regime of Shah) that served as the US and Israeli gendarme in the region.
Abouzar Nadimi was speaking to the Qods News Agency in Tehran on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the landmark revolution that is set to be marked on February 11.
The lawmaker touched on close cooperation between the ousted regime’s intelligence body and the Israeli Mossad agency against Palestinian combatants, adding that the establishment of the Islamic Republic was a key step in advancing the Palestinian struggle.
The deputy of parliament said the Islamic Republic re-tabled the Palestinian issue as a key international challenge and drew the world attention to the ordeal of the Palestinian nation under the Israeli occupation.
“Iran’s supports to the Palestinian and Lebanese Islamic resistance movements helped put an end on Israeli expansionist policies in the region,” the lawmaker said.
