1979 revolution revived Palestinian issue
An IRIB official believes that Palestine would have been reconciled to history books if the Islamic Revolution of Iran had not got triumph in 1979.
Manager of Bazar TV Channel, Majid Rajabi Me’mar was speaking to the Qods News Agency on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the landmark revolution that gained victory on February 11, 1979.
“The Islamic Revolution revived the Palestinian issue both at a domestic and international stage,” the IRIB authority said.
As for the pro-Palestinian stature of the Iranian revolution, the senior pro-Palestinian activist cited the shutdown of Israeli embassy in Tehran early in the Islamic Republic that was followed by the establishment of a first ever Palestinian embassy in its place.
In the same regard, Rajabi Me’mar also cited the designation of the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan by the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini as an international day for expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and calling for the liberation of the occupied al-Qods (‘Jerusalem’).
The media man believed that the position of the Iranian revolution concerning the Palestinian issue motivated Muslims, including the Palestinians to stand against the Israeli occupiers.
“The new attitude made the Zionists to abandon thoughts of occupying more lands in the region,” Rajabi Me’mar added.
The pro-Palestinian activist believed that the Zionist regime suffers a shaky position nowadays and has its political and cultural assets in tatters across the world.
Also a founding member of the Association of Advocates of Liberation of Holy Qods, Rajabi Me’mar said the Islamic Revolution has been inspirational for the emergence of Islamic resistance groups across the region.
