1979 revolution falsified anti-religion notions

Daughter of the late founder of the Islamic Republic believes that the Islamic Revolution of Iran that got triumph in 1979 falsified anti-religion notions in the world and proved that Islam has the capacity to mobilize people fore restoring their rights.

Zahra Mostafavi was speaking to the Qods News Agency on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the landmark revolution that gained victory on February 11, 1979.

The senior pro-Palestinian activist said the Palestinian issue was dealt as a top agenda by the late founder, Imam Khomeini “to the extent that the Imam once said the nation rose up against Shah over his siding with Israel.”

Secretary General of the prominent Iranian pro-Palestinian NGO, the Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation, Mostafavi said Imam Khomeini sought to unify the Muslim community through his campaign against Israel.

Asked about Imam Khomeini’s view of Israel as a cancerous tumor, the pro-Palestinian activist said the notion has become crystal-clear amid the current regional developments. “Israel poses a threat to the entire region,” she added.

Asked about the effect of the Islamic Revolution on regional nations, Mostafavi believed that the landmark revolution presented the nations with a role model.

“The model led to a new current of resistance that is identified with Islam,” the senior pro-Palestinian activist said, adding that the Islamic Resistance has set up a new equation in the whole region.

“The process would lead to the collapse of the Zionist regime,” she added.
