Cultural resistance must be enhanced

Director of a pro-resistance film festival in Iran says the Islamic Republic has already become an influential power in the region and beyond, adding that the clout has been acquired thank to the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Director of Resistance International Film Festival, Mohammad Khazayi was speaking to the Qods News Agency in Tehran.

The cinema personality said regional resistance groups have been formed thank to the revolution, all pursuing the common cause of struggle against the Zionist regime.

Khazayi believed that the international political stage was moving from a unipolar status towards a multi-polar stage with the Islamic Republic standing as an influential pole.

The cinema personality believed that the cultural aspect of the regional resistance must be enhanced, adding that cinema may play some major role in the assignment.

Khazayi said Iran in light of its strong cultural assets including its cinema industry must help produce fine works on the regional strategic affairs including the issue of resistance.

The media expert noted that the world Zionism has already kept a grip on almost every media in the world so as to eschew the trend of news work in its favor.

The cinema personality touched on the Berlin Film Festival’s recent award to Jafar Panahi’s work and called it politicized, arguing that the film festival would never award a recently released fine work by the Iranian Director, Majid Majidi on the lifestyle of the last messenger of Allah, Hadhrat Muhammad as it would not meet their political interests and goals.

“The world hegemony treads its false ideology with solid strides. It has realized the effect of cinema and capitalized hugely in the industry,” Khazayi added.

The cinema expert added however that the cultural force of regional resistance has already made its debut works and would turn into an effective force in the world soon.

“The force of resistance would gain victory” in the cultural front as well, the expert said.
