Palestinian issue remains unifying cause

A senior Iranian activist in inter-Muslim unity says the Palestinian issue remains as a unifying ground for Muslims against their common enemy of Israel.

Top assistant of the Secretary General of the Assembly for Proximity among Muslim Sects, Ali Asqar O'hadi was speaking to the Qods News Agency in Tehran.

The senior pro-unity activist said the Muslim community may overcome its challenges through unity, adding that the Palestinian issue has emerged as a key challenge for Muslims in the present time however it could be resolved through Muslim unity either.

O'hadi said the western governments are seeking to keep the public opinion from the Palestinian issue.

The expert also noted that the assembly promotes a unity of political stance among Muslims towards the international issues rather than a unification of religious denominations.
