US, Isreal divided over Iran N-issue

A senior Iranian expert in regional affairs maintains Washington and Tel Aviv have major and strategic differences over the Iranian nuclear issue.

Head of European and American Studies Program in the Foreign Ministry, Sayyed Vahid Karimi was speaking to the Qods News Agency.

The expert argued that Israel has lost its significance for the West's future strategic agenda and the Israeli aggrandizement of the Iranian nuclear issue is a trick to keep Israel on the agenda.

Karimi also cited a wave of awakening among the US elites who say there is no reason to keep enmity towards Iran.

The expert added that the discourse of democracy has prevailed over militarism, further helping to sideline Israel in the Western strategic agenda.

Karimi lauded the Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif for his sophisticated application of diplomacy in the nuclear talks and considered it as a reason for the prevailing of the democratic discourse over the militaristic one.
