On mounting Israeli attacks in WB

An Iranian expert in regional affairs says the mounting Israeli attacks in the West Bank are related to the embattled Benjamin Netanyahu's push for the formation of a coalition government.

Mohammad Irani was speaking to the Qods News Agency in Tehran.

Irani believed that Netanyahu seeks to stabilize the internal situation by shifting the focus on the occupied West Bank.

The expert added however that the recent attacks are a loop in the chain of the Israeli macro-policy of exerting force against the Palestinian population in a bid to expand settlements.

"The policy has been exerted since 1967," the expert said.

The expert said the Jewish settlers who carried out the recent attacks against the Palestinians have been armed by the Zionist regime's military.

He noted that a 700-strong population of the Jewish settlers freely move and at against a 250-thousand-strong population of Palestinians in the West Bank.
