Saudi, Israel on common interests in Yemen

An Iranian journalist and expert in regional affairs says Riyadh and Tel Aviv pursue common interests in Yemen, adding the Zionist regime of Israel has largely reaped the fruits of the Saudi attacks on the country.
Director of international desk in the Shabestan news agency, Behzad Akhlaqi was speaking to the Qods News Agency (Qodsna).
The expert said Israelis are very concerned about which group might take the control of the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait through which four percent of the world’s energy need pass.
“Israelis are supplying their needed goods through the strait. They would not be content with a ruling power in Sana’a that refuses to serve their interests,” Akhlaqi said.
The journalist then touched on the new Saudi king’s mental health problems and said the war on Yemen was actually controlled by his son, adding that the king’s son has launched the war in a bid to prove his ‘credentials’ for the throne.
“The war in Yemen reflects an internal power schism inside Saudi Arabia,” the expert said.
Akhlaqi added however that Saudi would cede the battle as it has no warring experience in the face a seasoned army of forces in Yemen.
