US, Israel strategic allies

An Iranian journalist believes the US and Israel are strategic allies however they may disagree on some issues, inclduing the Iranian nuclear program.

Editor of the international desk in Shabestan news agency, Behzad Akhlaqi made the remarks in an interview with Qodsna.

Akhlaqi added the US has sat negotiation with Iran due to the regional developments and unless the regional developments were not in favor if Iran, the US would never hold talks with the Islamic Republic on the nuclear program.

Asked about the Israeli position towards the Iranian nuclear issue, the expert in international affairs said the Israeli position is natural as a final nuclear deal would cement the Iranian influence in the Middle East region.

“The US seeks to contain Iran through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) while Israel urges more sanctions against Iran,” the expert said.
