Israel, source of terrorism in region

An Iranian expert in regional affairs says the Zionist regime remains to be a source of threat for the region as a cancerous tumor and should be contained.

Hassan Abedini was speaking to the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) in Tehran answering a question on the late Imam Khomeini’s renowned likening of Israel to a cancerous tumor.

As for the possible role of Israel in the formation and promotion of terror groups in the region, the expert said Israel has been founded on pillars of terrorism and expansionism and accordingly it would resort to any possible means to survive, including the creation and promotion of regional terror groups.

“Zionist regime is source of terrorism in the region,” Abedini said, adding any terror group in the region is directly or indirectly in touch with the Israeli spy agencies and intelligence command.

Asked about the US relations with Israel, the expert touched on the recent US President Barack Obama’s assertion on the US ties with Israel and said the US has a decades-long record in supporting Israel.

Abedini noted that the US government has used to side with Israel in a any case where the Israeli interests have been in conflict with the Muslim community.

“There is no difference between various US presidents, either Democrat or Republican, when it comes to the case of supporting Israel,” the expert said, adding Obama’s assertion on his support to Israel is a loop in the chain of US support for Israel.
