Summer war, large failure for Israeli army

Senior Iranian analyst in Middle East affairs says the last summer’s 51-day war in Gaza translated into another failure for the Israeli army, adding the Israeli failure was a sequel to their failure in the 33-day war against the Lebanese Hezbollah in 2006.

Hassan Haznizh told the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) that Hezbollah has already served as a model of resistance for the Palestinian nation, adding the Palestinian movements modeled the Lebanese group’s methods in keeping the Israeli army at bay for 51 days.

Hanizadeh touched on the Israeli bombardment of various areas in the besieged Gaza during the 51-day rampage and said despite the harsh shelling, the Israeli could not advance into Gaza, marking a large failure in its history.

“The Zionist regime lost its military and political stand following the summer war and suffered an international isolation,” he said.

The analyst also touched on reports that the Zionist army was assisted by the US, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia financially during the war, adding the Palestinian success in repelling the Israeli push was bright.

The analyst urged the Palestinian leaders to decipher the keys to the victory, free from the influence of the regional situation.
