WB populations took action at last

In the wake of the burning to death of a Palestinian toddler in Nablus, the residing populations embarked on forming popular committees in order to safeguard the Palestinians against Zionist settlers' attacks, opening a new page in the records of the Palestinian resistance.

The development also points to the bitter reality that the Palestinians still feel unprotected despite the existence of the 120thousand-strong corps of the PA security, finding no other way for protecting their lives but to form popular committees.

Past records show that the PA security forces tend to take actions against anti-Israeli attacks rather than anti-Palestinian ones. The PA forces embark on arrest campaign against the Palestinians once receiving any suspicious tips while they declined to take any actions both in the burning to death of a Palestinian youngster, Mohammad abu Khudeir months ago and the recent burning of the toddler, Ali Davabasha.

Settlers occupying the West Bank areas have boosted their position through the direct and indirect supports of Israel, at the same time, the PA forces virtually help further secure the settlers by not taking any actions after any such crimes are committed.

The formation of the popular committees then would help keep the settlers at bay.
