Saudi leading compomise-minded Arab states

Iranian political analyst Mohammad Irani says the Saudi government has already led the Arab states which seek to compromise with Israel instead of restoring the Palestinian rights through perseverance.

Irani was answering a Qodsna question on why Saudi Arabia seeks to have closer ties with Israel.

Irani touched on the Saudi proposal for the Palestinian issue offered several years ago and said the offer showed the government has no problem with establishing ties with the Zionist regime.

The analyst said the Zionist regime wishes to establish contacts with any Arab or Muslim countries that appear to be adopting the idea of resistance against the regime and in the same line it seeks to draw closer to Saudi Arabia.

Irani also noted that while Saudi may consider closer ties with Israel in order to have a stronger position in the face of its regional rival Iran, Israel pursues more strategic goals from such contacts with Saudi, including to weaken the front of anti-Israeli resistance.

The analyst urged the Muslim community to realize the situation and help the Saudi government to restore its anti-Israeli position and continue to consider Israel as the foremost enemy of the Arab and Muslim states.
