New generation of Palestine stands against occupation
Jewish American journalist and political analyst, Stephen Lendman has reviewed the latest Palestinian developments, especially the ongoing anti-occupation protests across the occupied Palestine in a text interview with the Qods News Agency (Qodsna). Lendman also discussed the future of the regional developments, including the Palestinian issue. The text of the interview follows.
Palestinian developments
The protests reflect a new generation of youths unwilling to accept endless occupation harshness with no chance for relief except by rebelling.
The so-called peace process is a complete hoax, dead on arrival every time proposed.
(Acting PA head Mahmoud) Abbas is part of the problem, not the solution. He’s a notorious longtime Israeli collaborator, benefitting hugely at the expense of his people.
US-led Western nations partner in Israeli high crimes. Impossible for them to serve as honest brokers. Hypocrisy is longstanding and rife. Policies contradict occasional meaningless pro-Palestinian rhetoric.
The EU-ordered labeling of settlement products is a sham. Why haven’t they been banned altogether? Why do Western countries keep supporting Israel’s killing machine, selling it weapons and munitions to kill Palestinians, bomb Syria and target Hezbollah.
Regional developments
Turkey, Saudi Arabia, other (Persian) Gulf states, Israel and US-led Western nations are partners in regional state terror - raging in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, heading elsewhere regionally and beyond if not stopped.
Russia is the greatest hope for world peace. (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s real war on terrorism is polar opposite Obama’s phony war - supporting the terrorist groups he claims to oppose.
Future developments
I expect worse in 2016 than now, regionally and beyond - worse still under any administration succeeding Obama in January 2017, continued endless US-led wars of aggression, as well as Israeli brutality against the entire Palestinian population, perhaps a more aggressive war on Gaza than Protective Edge (the genocidal war in 2014 summer).
A dismal outlook, I know. I see nothing ahead that gives me optimism for something better.
