1979 Islamic Revolution, a strategic defeat for Israel

Spokesman of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Davoud Shihab says the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979 was a strategic defeat for Israel.

Shihab made the remarks in a n interview with the Qods News Agency (Qodsna) on the eve of the 37^th anniversary of the victory of the revolution.

The Islamic Jihad leader congratulated the Iranian nation on the anniversary, adding that the Iranian revolution promoted the Palestinian issue.

As for the ongoing anti-occupation attacks in Palestine, the Islamic Jihad spokesman said all Israeli efforts to stop the revolution had already ended up in failure.

Shihab noted that all western political efforts have focused on rescuing Israel from a crisis triggered by the ongoing intifada.
