Saudi-Israel ties in fifth stage

Palestinian website, Naba Press says the Saudi purchase of two Egyptian islands serves as a start to the fifth stage in its relations with Israel.

The website says a first stage in the relations came in a Saudi initiative in the 2002 Arab League conference that took place amid the Israeli massacre of Palestinians in the second intifada.

A second stage in Saudi-Israel relations dates back to the 33-day Israeli war on Lebanon where Saudi adopted reticence and set the ground for the Israeli invasion.

Saudi’s full-scale support to terror groups in Syria made the third stage in the relations, the website said, as Saudi conditioned its support to no firing against Israel.

Saudi entered a fourth stage in its relations with Israel as it shut the doors against Hamas in recent years.

And, the fifth stage started with the purchase of the two islands by which Saudi drew its borders closer to Israel as part of its efforts to make its secret ties with the occupiers open for the public.

“The questions is whether Israel would adopt transgressive policies in the face of Saudi affectionate gestures,” Naba Press enquires.
