Saudi petrodollar end up in Israel

Saudi authorities have granted over 15 billion dollars to Israel before 2011 through France with a large part of which spent on military affairs, Palestinian website, al-Menar revealed.

In 2006 alone, Riyadh has given 2 billion dollars as part of its aid to Israel in its fight against the Lebanese anti-occupation movement, Hezbollah, the report says.

The daily especially singled out a visit to Israel by the then head of the Saudi intelligence and his meeting with the then prime minister, Ehud Olmert.

Saudi authorities have also made large grants to Israel after 2011 especially in their bid to prevent a US nuclear deal with Iran, the daily said, adding Tel Aviv had sought to push the US to war on Iran.

The daily said the Saudi scourge in Syria and its support to terror groups was a reaction to its failure in preventing the deal.

Al-Menar says the Saudi government has been running special ventures in Israel particularly in tourism and supplies Israel with certain foodstuff and security equipment.

The daily concluded that the Saudi government has now focused on the Palestinian issue in a bid to pave the ground for a normalization of ties with Israel and to sideline the Palestinian issue.
