Abbas renews support to France initiative

PA head Mahmoud Abbas has appreciated France again for a controversial peace project that is rejected by all Palestinian resistance movements.
Abbas made the remarks in a session of the Fatah ‘revolutionary’ council.
He also called for a timetable for a conference on Palestinian issue initiated by France.
Many analysts however maintain that the French initiative is rather aimed at preventing the current anti-occupation intifada than advancing the Palestinian issue.
The anti-occupation drive, well into its fifth month, has already turned into the foremost security concern for Israel and Western states more seeks to remove the concern than to advance the Palestinian interests.
Palestinian groups and the grassroots on the other hand believe that the sole path to secure the interests is to resist the occupying regime.
