Palestinians in occupied Quds barred from voting for 5 decades
Palestinians residing in the occupied al-Quds have wished for the past five decades to take part in any ballot, according to the Palestinian website al-Resala Net.
The daily said the Palestinians look with regret at the upcoming municipal ballot in the besieged Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Palestinians in the city have never been allowed to vote since Israel occupied the eastern part of al-Quds in 1967, barred both by Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
PA has signed an agreement with Israel by which to delay any ballot in the area until a final solution is agreed upon on the occupied Quds, the daily said.
The last municipal voting was held in the city in 1955 before it was occupied by Israel.
