New settlement draft, declaration of war on Palestinians

A senior Palestinian figure says the Israel vision of building 120 more settlements over the Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank was a declaration of a full-scale war on the Palestinian nation.

Secretary General of the Palestinian Initiative Movement, Mostafa Barghouthi was speaking to the Ma’an news agency.

Barghouthi said a law currently debated in the Israeli parliament would legitimize the construction of newer settler homes in the occupied lands and would virtually end the dream of establishing an independent Palestinian state.

The Palestinian personality said however that the move was not surprising from the Israeli government “that is run by a Fascist cabinet which pursues an Apartheid policy and racial discrimination.”

“They gravely pursue their policy of legitimizing the stolen lands and imposing an extremist policy over the Palestinian nation,” he said.

Barghouthi said time was ripe for a national strategy that would put together the Palestinians round a strategy of resistance against Israel.

He also called on the Palestinian Authority to stop security collaboration with Israel.
