How Gaza turned into symbol of resistance

Qodsna; Ahmad Reza Ruhollah Zad:
These days mark the seventh anniversary of the Israeli war on Gaza when Israeli exhausted it military, media and intelligence abilities as well as the baking of its western and Arab supporters to launch onslaught on Gaza from land, sea and air.
The then Israeli Foreign Minister, Tsipi Livni admitted at the time that up to 170 countries were in coordination with Israel to maintain reticence for a week during the war until Israel ‘puts the last nail in the coffin of Palestinian resistance’ but to no avail.
The Israeli onslaught took place at time when most people worldwide were preparing for Christmas, giving Israel a favorable opportunity to try the Palestinian resistance in the besieged Gaza.
Israeli request from the states above all means the regime has scares about the world public opinion; people worldwide had already staged mass protests amid Israel’s similar onslaught on Lebanon in 2006 that lasted for 33 days.
As for Gaza, the Israeli spy services speculated they would only need some seven days to do away with the anti-occupation resistance in Gaza and sought to have the public opinion controlled during the moment.
Their calculations however came untrue as people took to the streets against Israel despite the frenzy of Christmas preparations.
At the end, both Gaza and its resistance and its rocket firing gears remained in place. On the other side, Israel saw one of its troops, Gilad Shalit seized by the Palestinian fighters. It also failed to restore trust in the Israeli army that broke amid the 2006 war on Lebanon.
Israel actually sought to set up the idea that its failure in the war on Lebanon was a mere accident however the failure repeated itself in the 2008 war on the besieged enclave.
Israel also lost the media war as independent media covered the developments online, something Israel apparently was not prepared for.
This way Gaza turned into a symbol of resistance in the eyes of world free people.
