Astana 2 paves ground for war on terrorism

The third Astana conference on Syria is crucial as its declared agenda of replacing the military option in Syria with a political solution has found newer advocates, namely the US and Jordan.

Also, the achievement of the first round of talk, namely ceasefire is still in place.

The conference will pave the way for a talk in Geneva that is set to be held on February 23 after uch delays.

The conference is a major contribution to the talk as it helps integrate the dissident groups and also have both political and military groups in attendance for a first time.

The conference is thus taking the Palestinian issue towards a political solution and paves the way for a joint war on the ISIS and al-Nusra Front terror groups.
