Annual 8,000 cases of suicide in Israel

Over 8,000 Jewish immigrants have committed suicide in 2010 in Israel, Akka quoted the regime’s health ministry as reporting.

The reports also note that only up to 6,000 cases of suicides have been reported to hospitals.

Up to 450 individuals have died during the suicides of which 66 were under 25, the report added.
 
Social and economic problems are behind most of those suicides, relatives of the victims have told the ministry.

The ministry’s representative has expressed concern in a report to the Israeli Knesset that the number of those killed in suicide was more than those killed annually in car accidents across Israel.
