Gazans to carry out huge residential master plan
The Housing Ministry of the democratic Palestinian government announced a master plan to build a huge residential complex which accommodates 1000 residential units. The master plan, considered the largest ever in the history of Gaza in the past two decades, includes sixteen 12-storey residential towers and ten 10-storey residential complexes, according to Naeem al-Samari, a senior official with the Housing Ministry. Housing units will sit over shopping malls and trade units, the deputy director general of the project said. The residential area has been named ‘township of return’ alluding to a return to normal life after the Israeli carnage in 2008. The master plan will be launched in early 2012.
