Rahim Mashaei: By 'Israeli people' expression I never meant to consider nationhood for Israel

Presidential Advisor and Head of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization said that Israel suffers lack of identity let alone having a nation to recognize the regime.

Esfandiyar Rahim Mashaei who was in the office of the Iran-based Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation (SDPN) Monday upon an invitation by the society, told Qodsna reporter that he had meant by the expression that the Zionists even lack any majority in the territory and the people there were forced to accept the regime's reign.

Mashaei underlined that the IRI stance regarding the rightful Palestinian resistance would never waver and that the Muslim people of Iran along their dear leader and revolutionary government were well known as the staunchest supporters of the Palestinian and Lebanese combatants against the aggressive policies of the Zionst regime.

He then quoted President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as saying that it was enough to leave the gates of 'Israel' open to see how a substantial number of people who were cheated to immigrate to the area would diverge.

The advisor to Ahmadinejad noted that any one who keeps presence in the country has helped promote the occupying regime even though he acts as shield for the regime.

Mashaei raised the IRI's initiative of referendum to resolve the Palestinian issue, adding that the Islamic Republic has no war with anyone and that it only urges the west to let the inhabitants of the territory decide their fate and choose their desired government.

Mashaei's interview came after his provocative remarks early this month in which he spoke of 'friendship with Israeli people.'
