Barhum: By designation of World Qods Day, Imam Khomeini sought to support al-Aqsa Mosque

Spokesman of the Gaza-based Palestinian government Hamas appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support to the Palestinian issue adding that Palestine was in need of Arab and Islamic aid in order to be able confront the Zionist regime.

Interviewed by Qodsna, Fuzi Barhum said the Hamas movement appreciates all those who strive to resolve the Palestinian issue and free al-Qods.

Concerning the designation of the World Qods Day by Imam Khomeini, the Departed, Bahum said that Imam aimed to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque by the move.

The spokesman regretted that the Israeli and American plots could weaken the Islamic side of the Qods issue, adding that the Arab and Islamic countries had failed to side with the Palestinian nation.
