ISNA Managing Director said Wednesday that if the Islamic Revolution had not taken place, there would have not been any trace of Palestine and resistance.

Jamal Rahimiyan made the remarks in an interview with Qodsna.

"The awakening wave of Islamic Revolution set up a robust dam against the world imperialism and Zionism who were bent on writing off the Palestinian issue," he said.

Rahimiyan pointed to the then situation of the region at time of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, saying that right at a moment when the hegemony was tightening grip on the world of Islam, the Islamic Revolution suddenly came out to the rescue of oppressed nations with a message of justice and dignity.

"Oppressed nations take model from the message and stand against bully," he added.

Asked about Imam Khomeini's position on the Palestinian issue, the news director said that Imam dxrew up a long term strategy in that regard by designating a day in the world calendar as Qods Day when people march worldwide in support of the Palestinian issue.
