Palestinian figure appeals for IRI's initiative

Rafiq Al Netsheh, member of revolutionary council of Fatah movement appealed to the Islamic Republic of Iran to speed up efforts to establish unity among the Palestinian factions, adding that the country had already played a positive role in that regard.

Speaking to Qodsna, he said "I believe Iran can play a larger role in the Palestinian affairs, so we urge Iran to try its best to establish unity among the Palestinian rival groups and try to solve their problems."

"U.S. press is trying to divert public opinion to lateral problems and deviate them from main pivot of conflict which is the Israeli regime," he added.

Pointing to Israeli unwillingness to hold truce with the Palestinians, Al Netsheh said "Israel has never left terrorism and war crimes as a means to achieve its political goals and so it always opposes any peace initiative."

He described the ongoing meetings between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli regime as futile and useless.
