Barqhouti: Negotiations, cover for Israeli crimes

Information Minister of the then Palestinian national unity government, Mustafa Barghouti underlined necessity of resistance and rejected negotiations with Zionist regime.

He told Qodsna that any truce must include Gaza Strip and West Bank, adding that the ongoing negotiations must be halted as they are only is in favor of Israel.

"There is no doubt that Palestinian situation is very dangerous and sensible, THE minister said, adding that Israel manipulated the status quo in its favor and continued its ongoing massacre of Palestinians.

"In order to solve internal discords and reach national unity, it is necessary for Fattah and Hamas to show goodwill to achieve agreement, the minister urged.

"Gaza is on verge of collapse," Barghouti warned, adding that the rate of unemployment in the area has soared to over 60 percent and poverty has increased by 80%.

"Gazans are waiting for immediate and practical action and unless it happens, Gaza volcano will explode," Barghouti warned.

Describing Palestinian president's tour to Washington as futile, Barghouti noted that such meetings would not have any positive results.

"We warned that the Annapolis confab too is only a maneuver for preventing the establishment of a real peace," he said.

"According to statistics, Israeli attacks on the Palestinian territories have soared by 30 percent after the Annapolis conference was held, the minister noted.

"Zionist regime uses negotiations as a cover for its atrocities as it has always announced it has no intention to negotiate refugee issue, Qods, borders or settlements."
