SDPN official: 'No Gaza, no Lebanon' slogan, unpopular in Iran

Secretary General of the Iran-based Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation invoked the December 30 nationwide march of the Iranian nation in support of the Islamic Revolution and said that such ideas as "No Gaza, No Lebanon," chanted by some people recently would not get popular.

Mojtaba Rahmandoust told Qodsna Thursday however that it is not logical to expect the totality of the 70-million Iranian population hold similar views regarding the issue, however the Islamic Republic would follow its Constitution which has a supportive view towards Resistance movements.

Rahmandoust added that the defiant idea was not new rather it has taken a new face. "However, we have no fear because the issue would not get any popularity," the prominent pro-Palestinian activist said.

Rahmandoust in another regard urged for continued Palestinian resistance as sole way to break the Gaza siege. He also offered the idea to establish Zionist regime's bloodshed in Gaza in late 2008 as a reality against the Western claims of Holocaust.

The SDPN official said the recent promises of donations for Gaza rebuild by some Western countries were a sheer sham, adding that it is futile to expect some Arab countries which are allies to Israel help rebuild Gaza.

Rahmandoust noted that the Zionist regime has got a feeble stand following its 22-day war against Gaza.
